Organized in 1975

Organized as part of a downtown enhancing plan, The Saco Farmers' and Artisans' Market has been connecting local producers with consumers since 1975. It is now located in the parking lot of the Saco Valley Shopping Center through the generosity of the Deering Family.

As in other Farmers' Markets in Maine, the goods for sale must be the result of the vendor's own effort. The market spans three seasons: the spring plant season, summer with its vegetables and flowers, and the fall harvest season through the last of October, with glass bottled milk and bakery products for sale through all three seasons. When customers shop at the Saco market, they know they are getting the very freshest products for their tables as well as contributing to the economic vitality of their neighboring farms.
